We’re located in Tampah, Lombok, Indonesia. The land is less than 15 minutes from Kuta, Lombok, and 30 minutes from the international airport. There are many great surf spots nearby, including: Mawi, Gerupuk, Seger, Selong Belanak, etc.

Sustainability is the number one priority at Malia. All decisions are based on sustainability criteria and best practises, from landscaping, energy, water and waste to building design and construction. Our goal is to be a project that's a positive impact on the world and the region.

Passive Design
Passive design strategies help us maintain thermal comfort in a building without the use of electricity. In the tropical context of Lombok, our goal is to implement passive cooling strategies. This is the first step towards “Net Zero 2030” and thus contributes to reducing CO2 emissions and mitigating global warming.
Energy Strategies
Indonesia’s electricity mix is 85% fossil fuels, which contribute massively to climate change. In South Lombok, 100% of our electricity is generated by diesel generators. Our goal is to be completely carbon neutral through the use of renewable energy such as solar and hydro power, and to feed CO2-free electricity into the national grid to support our commitment to decarbonisation.
Site & Landscape
The main goals of sustainable landscaping are to conserve water and energy, reduce waste and reduce stormwater runoff. Landscaping can also be used to maintain and improve the hydrology of the site, increase soil retention and improve biodiversity and the resilience of natural capital.
Water Strategies
Lombok’s freshwater supply is one of the greatest sustainable challenges for this area and the entire region. Therefore, reducing freshwater demand and implementing water conservation, treatment and reuse strategies are crucial and a top priority for Lombok’s development.
Waste Strategies
Sustainable buildings refer to both the structure and the application of environmentally friendly and resource-efficient processes throughout the life cycle of a building: from planning to design, construction, operation, maintenance, renovation and demolition.
